Day 1-3

August 1, 2016. Hannover, Germany

In early August, I loaded my laptop, basses and an armful of scores into my car and headed to Hannover for a few days to record drum tracks for “The Hockey Project (two)“ with drummer Thorsten Harnitz. Happy to be on the road! (A few days ago, my car started to make noises. As there is no such thing as a good time for a car to break down, I needed it fixed fast! Of course, that happened on a Friday, at a quarter past four. I made it to the garage 2 minutes before 5, and the owner hands me his own car keys and says “Take my car. I will have yours fixed by noon tomorrow“. A big shout-out to www.opelschier.de !)

So, recording, part one.

We had two very productive days of setting up everything, rehearsing, toying around with ideas, and – finally – recording. Working with Thorsten is so much fun – he is not only a hell of a drummer, but also one of those guys willing to go the extra mile. Plus he simply will never deliver anything less than perfect. Such a great start!
